Celebration is an attentive and gracious joy of presence. When you celebrate, you are taking time to recognize, to open your eyes and behold in your life the quiet miracles and gifts that seek no attention; yet each day they nourish, shelter, and animate your life. The art of belonging in, with, and to your self is what gives life and light to your presence; it brings a radiance to your countenance and poise to your carriage. When your heart is content, your life can always find the path inwards to this deep stillness in you.

Christmas, my child, is love in action … when you love someone, you give to them as God gives to us. The greatest gift He ever gave was the Person of His Son, sent to us in human form so that we might know what God the Father is really like! Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas.

Daily meditation resources can be a helpful way to spending time in quiet contemplation everyday. Because we are all different and because each of us has a unique relationship with God, no one method will work for everyone. Below are a selection of books and online resources to help you along the path. Experiment until you find the time of day and format that helps you the most.
It is important to remember as you try to grow closer to God is that God is already reaching out to you. God is the one who gives you the desire to grow, and God wants you to grow. You just keep showing up, even when you don’t particularly feel holy or loving or centered. And you can trust that if you do so, God will show up, too.
A Prayer for Daily Insight
Open my eyes, God. Help me to perceive what I have ignored, to uncover what I have forgotten, to find what I have been searching for. Remind me that I don’t have to journey far to discover something new, for miracles surround me, blessings and holiness abound. And You are near.
