How You Love Yourself, Is How You Love The World…

Just Be Yourself

To be who you are
is to be enough.
To share who you are
is to share enough.
To do what you love
is to do enough.

There is no race to win
and nothing to be proven,
only dreams to be nurtured,
a self to be expressed,
and love to be shared.

Never doubt your worth,
and always know,
without any doubt,
that you are truly valued.
— Donna Newman from Always Believe in Yourself and Your Dreams

… I have written a lot about loving the world- in small ways each day (in being present to, seeing & compassionately connecting with those who cross our path today) & in bigger ways (contributing to/participating in projects like literacy for all children) Last night, the Grandmothers in my dream spoke very softly to me, as if not to startle or frighten me with their news. They said, “How you love yourself, is how you love the world.” I awoke with tears on my face.

Loving someone (or ourselves) is not just about good care-taking. It is about how we hold them/ourselves in our hearts, what attitude we take toward their/our frailities & strengths. Sadly, I am no expert in self-love, but I am learning (& willing to continue to learn.) So tell me- what does self love feel like, taste like, look like in your life? How do you know when it is present (or absent?) How would you teach a child you love to love themselves?

You were born with potential.
You were born with goodness and trust.
You were born with ideals and dreams.
You were born with greatness.
You were born with wings.
You are not meant for crawling, so don’t.
You have wings. Learn to use them and fly.
